Punk Princess at Selina's Beauty Castle




The look! Bouquet's not mine. Just borrowed it.
Have you heard of a particular salon in Cebu that treats their customers as royalties? I mean like literal “royalties”. I tell you there is! Sharing to you…drumbeats rolling… Selina’s Castle of Beauty and Wellness salon. This salon usually reminds me of my childhood dreams and thoughts. 

When I was a kid, I always wanted to become a princess or a queen, wear colorful fancy gowns, own a golden castle, hold my knight in shining armor's arm and live happily ever after. I used to read fairy tales way back so I couldn't really blame myself for thinking that way, lol. Well, I grew up now; made my own path of life and experienced both the world's sweetness and bitterness at times. It is funny to think now what my aspirations and thoughts were that hilarious. 

When I received an invitation of Selina’s Castle of Beauty and Wellness's opening event, I was intrigued. The curious cat inside my brain just wanted to see the place right away and so I decided to go there. This bloody red, lacy fancy chair in the lobby welcomed my eyes. It was as if calling me to sit on it. There was also a bouquet of flowers on the table next to the chair that time. What other perfect thing to do besides holding it and letting my friend took a picture of me with it? Lol. That was the story of this picture. No, this was not given to me by someone else; I just borrowed it!

I chose to look as if a punk princess during the event. I opted for a cropped gray tshirt with letter F print on it; paired with short faded denim shorts; balanced with an old-school high-cut converse shoes you’d probably ditch when you’re schooling. I accessorized the look with a black choker around my neck tied it into a ribbon then rolled my hair just a little bit up high and formed a bun on the head.

Baby Blue Chick at Sun Life Tri-Team Press Conference


One of the many great things Cebu is well-known for is the exciting "Ironman Triathlon" event that happens every year. Ironman Triathlon is a series of long-distance triathlon races consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, a 112-mile bicycle ride and a marathon 26.2-mile run, raced in that order and without a break.

If you are like me who is a big fan of this, then you know this is really exhilarating! A lot of people all over the Philippines including celebrities join this yearly healthy competition to showcase fun and strength. How about watching your celebrity crush soaked in sweat while looking cute and handsome still? Who wouldn’t want that? Hehe.

This year, Ironman 70.3 happened last August 6, 2017. One of the many participants of the said event was Sun Life Financial Philippines, with its very own executives, advisors, and brand ambassadors Piolo Pascual leading the Sun Life Tri-Team.

The Press Conference and My Outfit-of-the-day #OOTD

Before Ironman 70.3 took place, I was invited to witness the press conference of Sun Life Tri-Team in Shangri-La's Mactan Resort & Spa, Cebu. As a fashion wannabe (charr lang), one best way I figured to enjoy that yellow fun-filled day was to mix and match my outfit-of-the-day to achieve a girly chick look.


Since it was a sunny Saturday, I opted for a baby blue off-shoulder top paired with white lacey shorts to beat off sun’s hotness. This was just perfect and stylish especially with the baby blue handbag and Dior glasses on. Almost all people in the conference room were wearing yellow that day. Well, I felt I was the sky and they were the sun! In order to add a little bit of a class to the look, I sported out this not-so-old black criss-cross heels that was just residing in my shoe rack. Haha.

It was a wonderful experience especially after knowing Sun Life’s goal about promoting ideal fitness and active lifestyle. Sun Life had been boosting its health and wellness initiatives with GoWell, a community that promotes holistic wellness through a fit and active lifestyle, healthy eating, and living a balanced life. Its website, www.gowell.com.ph, offered fitness and wellness content with articles from experts; while community workouts and fitness classes were also offered to its members.

The participating teams and racers had also been introduced. Yes, I met some of the hottest Philippine celebrities namely Enchong and Piolo which made the experience much more interesting!
Enchong (swim) was joined by fellow celebrity Piolo (bike) in his team along with Toniel (run). Sun Life Board Director Paco Sandejas (swim) raced with Sun Life advisors Eboy de Leon (bike) and Mike Miras (run).

According to Sun Life CEO and Country Head Riza Mantaring, Sun Life had taken part in the Ironman many times over the past few years, and yet, the excitement it brought never gets old. That’s just true. I felt it!

The Medal

The medal to be awarded to racers was once again designed by multi-awarded industrial designer Kenneth Cobonpue, a Sun Life brand ambassador himself.

Look at that genius-styled medal, just incredible!

During the conference, Sunpiology Dou had also been unveiled.

What is Sunpiology Dou?

The good thing about Sun Life is that it does not only provide financial services to the people, it also promotes physical fitness and supports worthwhile causes. Sunpiology is a highly anticipated annual fun run organized by Sun Life Financial Philippines. Now, Sunpiology will evolve into a two-fold event and will soon cater both running and cycling enthusiasts thus called Sunpiology Duo.

Sunpiology Duo will come into two parts : Sun Life Cycle PH and Sun Life Resolution Run.

Fashion Essentials for Sumilon Island


This bunny is excited!

It's final! I will have a retreat in Sumilon Island in the next few days! After a long time of hiatus when it comes to the word "vacation", here I am ready to hit the white beach and clear water of Sumilon Island. Ugh, I am so excited even with just the thought of it and can't wait any longer.

Sumilon Island is a 24-hectare coral island, located on the southeastern tip of Cebu. This is a must-go-to destination especially if you want to calm down, destress and breakfree from city life, daily challenges and everyday work. Although I am just living here in Cebu, Philippines, I must admit that I have never been to this island just yet due to so much excuses and incidents that are not worth mentioning in this post, hehehe. I will be with a close friend of course and we will stay at Bluewater Sumilon Island Resort for 3 days and 2 nights. A separate travel guide and stay experience will be up real soon so stay tuned.

This post is actually very personal, lol. I am just excited. You know that feeling?!
For ladies out there (or for some men too) who happen to be planning to stay in this island, you might want to read until the end of this post because I will list some very important Fashion Essentials that I must never forget. Who knows you can relate too. 

1. Hair coats and serum
“Salt in the air, sand in my hair.” What a nice rhyme, right? But, have you ever wondered what it is really to be on a beach? Well, the salty water can damage our hair and possibly lead to breakage and frizziness especially if you are like me who can stay in the water all day! (Hello tan lines and sunburn). With that, I will be bringing my hair buddies from Vitress so that it will be a no-worry-hair-days for me there. Vitress Classic is the number one hair cuticle coat we’ve been using with my sister on a daily basis right after taking a shower and before starting each of our day. Trust me, it has proven us its effectiveness in taking good care of our long mane.

2. Sunblock
I know we always hear this from our mom, titas, friends or even strangers “Pagdala ug sunblock” or “Naa kay sunblock?”. Yes, right! This is the holy grail and the secret to combat those painful sunburns and harsh tanlines. It’s funny that I still have the weird bikini tanline I got from my diving experience. I forgot to put sunblock on my hipline and until now, the weird line that resembles milk (lower hip near butt) and chocolate (upper hip) colors are still there. It’s totally uneven and it’s too funny to look at in the mirror, lol.
Use sunblock lotions/creams that are higher in SFP to really guard the skin from allow UV/UVA rays to enter. I have here sunblock products with SPF 30 so that means I need to apply these every 2 hours. I will buy with higher SPF tomorrow.

3. Bikinis and swimwear
Of course time to wear these pieces of cloths hidden in the drawer! We can choose from one piece, two piece or no piece (joke!) and this really depends on our style preference. 
After months of hiding in the closet, time to be back in the game!

4. Hair ties, headband and hat
Beaches have strong fresh air blowing all over. I have long hair so I need ties to lock them up. I don’t want my hair to cover my face during outdoor stay in the island. Fixing them is just an added responsibility, lol. How about going for messy buns? Alright! Hats also protect the face from sun rays and these can also spice up the pictures. So why not put one on? 
Just ties and headband because my hat is too big for a close up picture.

5. Camera and monopod. Cash, too!
Okay, this is mandatory you guys especially for a blogger like me who wants to document every good thing happening in my life. We take pictures because we want to preserve memories, don’t we? I have two phones with good quality cameras and there is really no need for me to buy DSLR or GoPro just yet. I am quite happy with these two here. 
My friend for sure will be busy enjoying the place as well so I need to have a monopod buddy (this is also called “selfie stick”). Click here, click there, click everywhere. It will be fun!
And of course extra cash for some beers, foods and anything else. Withdrawing from the ATM in the city is a good choice rather than credit cards.  Allthough the resort might accept credit card, it is still a wise decision to bring cash. know you get it.
I got topipti money right there, hahaha!

6. Stuffs from dermatologist
I am currently using products and following a tiring nightly regimen from my dermatologist. I must not forget this to totally cure my pimples. Ugh, that Kojic Acid soap really triggers the bullet. Just a piece of advice, don’t use Kojic Acid soap on your face especially if you have a sensitive skin.
Small ninjas but expensive. Arrrgh!

Noticeably, clothes and flipflops are not mentioned in the list because that are already given by default.

Black Lady at Purple Bee Cafe


No, this post is not going to be about ghosts or bad spirits as the “Black Lady” words enunciate in the title. That is just far too scary, isn’t it? This is about my sweet and happy experience at Purple Bee Café of course in my wonderful over slit black dress.

Our pregnant blogger mommy friend, her name is Pam, invited us to have a chitchat over sweet treats. She found this new café located at Bridges Town Square, Mandaue City called Purple Bee Shop and Cafe. Since I liked chitchats and sweets, you know what’s next, I said “Yes, count me in”. The name sounded cute and attractive to my ears as well so major plus points! 

It was a hot afternoon and I must not cover my whole self with long thick clothes. I was also on the mood for some outfit twist that day so I opted to wear my favorite black dress with a twist – yes, the slit. It’s always funny and entertaining everytime I wore it because right after the moment I stepped out of my house, most people would look at me from head to toe. I guessed this piece of cloth seemed to be rare in the eyes of many.
Yeah right, the shop was quite far from my place. The trip towards there was a little bit of a hassle because I was caught in a heavy traffic. Nevertheless, thanks to my “feeling close” and “kill-the-dead-air” behaviors, I still had fun talking with the taxi driver about life and work in general. I even gained wisdom. Very cool, huh!

It was 4 PM when I arrived to the destination. I was clearly late. I should be there by 3:30PM but ooops shoulder shrugged. I saw my friends having really great time over sweets and conversations. I joined right away without any further ado. Haha!

Purple Bee Shop and Café is a cool and convenient shop with purple and yellow as the main motif located at Bridges Town Square, Alang-Alang,, 143 Plaridel St, Alang-Alang, Mandaue City, 6014 Cebu. It is open daily 8:00AM - 10:00PM serving foods that range from brewed coffee, cakes, frappes, pastries, sandwhiches, wines to native delicacies. One thing that makes it stand out is the HONEY in their menu.  Not only that, you can also avail their natural & organic Purple Bee cosmetic product displayed in a particular corner inside the shop for healthy skin and hair plus various beauty regimen with a touch of honey in each of them. Yes, you read it right. Beauty products in a cafe.

The owner and the staff were very friendly. We were toured inside the shop. We were served with sandwiches, cakes, wines and my favorite – honey (baby so sweet, lol). Our bellies and sweet tooth were properly taken care of.

It was a two-storey shop and we managed to play card and brick games at the second floor after we ate. Pam brought her smart little girl Asha who just made our moment up there very exciting and fun. She spoke english and I loved talking to her eventhough she would just told me to go away. I was a bit of a naggy tita. Well, I couldn’t blame myself to be drowned by the little girl’s charm.
We also got to bring home some natural cosmetic products such soaps, sunscreen and lip balms.

Skin Day Out at KEVLO



How did I celebrate my birthday a few days ago? Well, I opted for a royal and relaxing facial treatment! Then an ice cream treat afterwards because who would not love that?

Together with some friends, my instagram buddy Rady invited me for a skin day out at Kevlo Skin Clinic on that special day of mine, my birthday.  I heard great things about their products online, so I was very keen to try it for myself. And I was in no way disappointed. In fact, my expectations were met.
And nope, he didn't know it was my birthday because I had these feelings he would post those awkwardly stolen pictures on my timeline and I just didn't want that to happen. Hahaha sorry Rady!

We went to Panagdait branch. The clinic is new and has a very good ambiance which is perfect for instagram post if you'd like to. Their staff is super friendly. In fact one of them braided my hair and it was just so classy!

Before going on with the procedure, we had a chitchat with the owners of the skin clinic - Mr. Mark Phillip Geniston and his daughter Lovely Geniston. They narrated how they come up with the business and what were their products and services. They started as a distributor of skin care products in 2007 and now working on opening clinic branches in the city.

They also educated us about the five ways on how to care for our skin: Cleanse, Tone, Moisturize, Protect and Exfoliate.

1. Cleanse – Eliminate sweat and dusts on the skin by cleansing it with soap or any of your favorite cleansers. Remember to always be gentle on your skin.
2. Tone – For the face, close those pores by using a toner solution that is best for you.
3. Moisturize – Cleansing and toning processes eliminates the essential oils on the skin. Restore those and maintain skin's elasticity by applying moisturizer.
4. Protect  - UVA/UVB rays are the worst enemies of our skin that leads to aging and wrinkles. Block the harmful rays from entering inside by protecting your skin with sunblock. You will thank it forever.
5. Exfoliate – Human beings are shedding dead skin everyday. Make sure to exfoliate at least thrice a week to totally get rid of those which most of the times causes skin allergies and acne.

I had my Kevlo Signature Facial after then. It took almost an hour. Mind you, it was one of my fastest one hour ever. Maybe because I just didn’t want the facial treatment process to finish just yet. I wished time stopped that moment because it was so relaxing and I really felt I was pampered very well. The therapist who handled me was very polite and friendly. Her very soft hands go very well. We talked a lot of things that ranges from relationships, beauty and life in general.

Glance: Celebrating Timeless Distinction



I grew up with all fairy tale fantasies in mind. Princesses, princes, queens, kings, castles, gowns, marriages and happily ever after were my thing when I was a kid. Those were the kind books I read and movies I watched. They firmly encapsulated my childhood days. Wayback then, I didn’t know anything about the “real” world and how opposite it was to my perspective until I studied college and lived in the City all by myself.

Although the reality awakens me now that life is not all fantasies and happiness, there is still that little voice in my head telling me to go and experience gown parties and fancy celebrations every once in a while. I guess it’s normal because I was once a firm believer of that stuff before the truth pokes my eyeball.

So when an invitation arrived at me last March 10, 2017 about a gown party, I said “Yes”!
Marriot organized a three-day Open Bridal Fair and I witnessed the grand finale! The event had a theme “Glance: Celebrating Timeless Distinction”. It featured highlights of Marriott’s 20 years in Cebu alongside wedding industry influencers who had also flourished in their craft over the past two decades. The event also featured Marriott’s 20 years of brilliant hosting and seamless segue from sleek business hotel to romantic wedding venue while still incorporating their signature technology-enhanced guest services for a unique and memorable “I do!”

There were live performances by the Cebu Phil Harmonic Orchestra and singer Anna Feji. It was a long gown, suit and tie event attended by Cebu's elites, fashion designers and wedding suppliers. Everybody was glammed and presentable.

I was really happy to be one of the lucky bloggers who witnessed such breathtaking gowns and tuxedos fashion show as well as the timeless couture collection of our homegrown world-class Cebuano designers. I also enjoyed the artistic displays of the wedding industry partners present during the event.

With all the beautiful things I saw that night; I wonder who is ready to walk the aisle for a memorable “I Do”. Anyone?

Road To Fashion Blogger Poses


Are you hoping to have that perfect blogger kind of pose that Instagram celebrities have? Are you at somepoint wanted to add a little bit of spice as well as drama on your photos? Well, if your answer is yes, then you are not alone. I, too, always dream that. I just want to have a break with my wacky poses and peace signs everywhere, hahaha. I mean who wouldn’t want a candid shot or  a perfectly genuine unscripted kind of shots?

Just recently, I learned a few new techniques on how to strike that blogger pose we always been dreaming to achieve. I am not saying that I am pro when it comes to these. I just notice that when I followed these, there’s really a significant improvement. These may not applicable to all of you but I just thought I ring a bell somewhere out there in your mind.

1. Look away from the camera. Think as if you are shy of the photographer that is why you to got to away. Look to the left or to the right side, not to the center.


2. Flaunt your sexy back. If you have it, then flaunt it!

3. Take a picture of your legs. Don’t you think your legs deserve some show time? After all the bottles of lotions it absorbed through the years, it needs to show off yeah?


4. Fix your sunglasses or your hat. Fix it yourself because if it is not you, then who else will be?


5. Look back, baby! …because why not?


6. Background matters darling. Choose a good background. Beaches, walls, sky, buildings, etc add up style and give life of the lifeless photo in general.


7. Pretend as if you are walking in slow mo. Pretend to be in a movie slaying the slow mo drama. Trust me, it almost always ends up with a candid shot!


8. Laugh/Smile your heartaches out. Laugh/Smile hard and wide because life is not always cries and tears.


9. Look innocent. Think as if you don't know how things work on Earth. "Parang siya, innocenting-inocenti na may feelings ka sa kanya."


10. YOLO. You Only Live Once so try to break some rules just like me in this picture. I entrust my life on a shaky rock that will surely fall if I'm not mindful of my balance. And oh, mr. lifeguard is yelling at me to come back up. And I am like, "kuya, wait for a while please!". #YOLO


11. I think I'm lost. ...lost in his eyes! Nah, kidding! Think as if you are in a forest and you don't know the right way back.


12.  Feeling like a superstar ...even if not, hahaha!
